GM agrees to $900M gov settlement over ignition switches

GM is paying a $900-million settlement to the US government and agreeing to three years of oversight to deal with a criminal investigation into the automaker's handling of the ignition switch recall. The company is also spending $575 million to deal with two civil cases.
