Junkyard Gem: 1997 Eagle Vision ESi

Chrysler's Eagle brand emerged in the aftermath of the purchase of American Motors by Chrysler in 1987, and it was supposed to be somewhat sportier and "European" than Dodge or Plymouth. Renault-based designs such as the Medallion and Premier, plus Mitsubishis such as the Talon and Summit made up most of the Eagle lineup, but the brand also got a version of the Chrysler LH: the Eagle Vision.

After years in development, California is finally rolling out its digital license plate pilot program. Drivers can purchase and install plate that uses the same E Ink screen technology as an Amazon Kindle or various wearables. The new digital display was developed by Reviver Auto and replaces a traditional stamped plate. It's available for both consumer and commercial vehicles, though at a considerable cost.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan configurator delivers a near-bespoke experience

Earlier this month we configured a McLaren Senna with the assistance of two representatives of McLaren Special Operations. In that piece we wrote about few chances there are for the online "shopper" to get a feel for the coachbuilt experience; the Ferrari LaFerrari configurator offered just three color options, for instance, and Bugatti removed the few variables it presented for the Chiron. McLaren didn't build a public configurator for the Senna. It's the Rolls-Royce Cullinan to the rescue &mda

2018 Chevrolet Equinox Buying Guide | Crossover questions answered

Chevrolet introduced an all-new third-generation version of its flagship crossover for 2018, giving it a sleeker, more sculpted exterior look that's more in line with other Chevrolet car models and shaving 400 pounds off the vehicle's total weight, a 10 percent reduction. Coupled with its efficient trio of newly turbocharged engines, that adds up to impressive gains in fuel economy (more on that later). There's also new technology including a Safety Alert seat, surround-view cameras, low-speed a

Tesla rolls out Model 3 braking update to tackle reviewer complaints

Tesla is making good on its promise to improve the Model 3's braking through a firmware upgrade. Elon Musk has confirmed that a fix for the EV's inconsistent brake performance started reaching cars on May 25th. The update should reduce the braking distance by about 20 feet for "repeated heavy braking events," according to the exec. That's no doubt meant to help reviewers like those at Consumer Reports (whose less-than-flattering review prompted the update), but something tells us that drivers wo

1931 Bugatti Type 56 Quick Spin | Not the Bug you'd expect

Bugatti stores a handful of historically significant cars in a picturesque building located a stone's throw from its factory. One doesn't blend in with the rest of the collection. It's a small, yellow and black two-seater named Type 56 that looks more like a horseless carriage than a grand prix-winning machine. It wasn't designed to race. Ettore Bugatti, the company's founder, built the electric runabout in 1931 to drive on his property.
